I've always liked helping people in any way that I could, and teaching is an excellent way to help others. I enjoy helping people develop an appreciation of math and science subjects. As a college student at Western Washington University, I tutored students in calculus and other math subjects. As a graduate school student, I was able to TA in general chemistry. When I went on to Cornell University to pursue my doctoral degree in chemistry, I became an educator in the science field. I love explaining science topics in ways that are easier for people to follow so that they can come to appreciate the beauty of science. In my free time, I like to bake, hike, play board games, read, and talk about science.
